How to install an eSIM?
Installing vs. activating: what’s the difference?
Installing an eSIM means adding the eSIM profile to your phone (usually via QR code).
Activating is when you actually start using it for mobile data.
Good news: you can usually install your eSIM before your trip on Wi‑Fi, then switch it on when you arrive.

For Android

Check Activation
Important: when does your plan start?
For travel data plans, your bundle starts automatically when the eSIM first connects to a supported network with Data Roaming enabled.
Tip: install in advance, but don’t set it as your active data line until you land if you don’t want it to start early.
How eSIM works:
An eSIM is a digital SIM built into your phone. Instead of inserting a plastic SIM card, you download a mobile plan as an eSIM profile.
Here’s the simple flow:
1. You choose a destination plan.
2. You receive a QR code.
3. Your phone uses that QR code to securely download an eSIM profile.
4. You select the eSIM for mobile data and connect to local networks.
No SIM swapping. No store visits. Just settings.
Before you install
– Make sure your phone supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked.
– Use a stable internet connection (Wi‑Fi recommended).
– Keep your QR code open on another device (laptop/tablet) for easy scanning.
– Update your phone OS if you haven’t in a while.
– If you’re traveling, plan to switch the eSIM on after landing to avoid starting the plan early.
